Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24, 1977) is an American actor and producer. Her films that focus on the theme of women are her mainstay. She has won many awards such as an Academy Award as well as the Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential individuals on the planet in 2012. Chastain started acting at an early age. In 1998 she made her debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet. She was a student at the Juilliard School and was then contracted to a talent holding deal with John Wells, a television producer. She was regular guest on several television series and also played roles in numerous stage productions. Chastain made her debut film in Jolene (2008) at the age of 31. She continued to release six films in the year of 2011 with the most notable being The Tree of Life (2011) and Take Shelter (2011). She was nominated for Academy Award nominations as a character in The Help (2011), in which she played an aspirational socialite, as well as Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as an analyst for the CIA analyst. The science-fiction films Interstellar (2014) & The Martian (2015) were commercially more successful than the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain was also praised for her portrayals of strong-willed women in the dramas A Very Violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017), and in the TV miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (2021). She then played Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) and won the Academy Award for Best Actress, and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain is the co-founder and investor of Freckle Films, a production company that promotes diversity in film. She has been vocal about mental issues and the issue of gender and racial equity. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
