Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with 12 other children. The vivid imagination of her mother allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. Her songs were written before she could write or read. Within 8 years she was playing her first guitar. At age 11, she began to sing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. At the age of 16, she established herself in the school community but her ambition was bigger. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his TV show syndicated by a network at approximately the exact as the time. Parton got her first gig in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. However, it wasn't until 1974 when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's band because the popularity of her individual records including Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene had outstripped their collaborative efforts. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to Number. For the first time, in 1974.
